Apple Pie
Dear Mom's Apple Pie,
Throughout our voyage we have taken it upon ourselves to discover the greatest apple pie in the USA (a la mode, of course). Today, thanks to you, the competition has been pushed to a higher plateau with the flaky buttery crust enveloping pure ecstasy in the form of warm cinnamon perfectly baked apples that you serve up.
Love,
The Armada
P.S. Mom's Apple Pie is located on route 116, in Forestville, CA

Historical Marker. Exclamation Point.
One really great thing about roadtripping across the United States is that you don't even need to get out of your car for sightseeing. Thanks to sporadically placed historical markers at the side of the highway, you can skid your car to a screeching halt from 75mph and get your history on! Texas seems to be particularly fond of markers; most of the go something like this, "in the early 19th century this site was home to a well which had foul tasting water and turned dishes a yellow color. The town burned down in the mid 19th century and was never rebuilt". Uhmmm, okay.
This historical marker, commemorating the first wagons of the Santa Fe Trail, was found along 87 N in New Mexico, between Mt. Dora and Grenville.
